Douglas Moore

October 22, 1953 — January 11, 2026

Doug Allen Moore, age 72, was born on October 22, 1953 to parents Warner Arthur Moore and Betty Lou (Young) Moore and passed away peacefully at home on January 11, 2026 surrounded by love.

Doug graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1971 and went on to attend Indiana University, a school he loved throughout his life. A gifted and dedicated draftsman, Doug worked in the field for more than 50 years. He spent 37 of those years with Blakey’s Flooring before starting his own drafting and printing company. Though he semi-retired in 2021, Doug’s passion for his work kept him happily taking on projects until recently.

On September 11, 1998, Doug married Kevin Kathleen (Fain) Jacobs, and together they built a loving family. Doug was a devoted husband and a proud stepfather who helped raise Kevin’s three children: Joe Jacobs, Riley (Jacobs) Wise, and Bailey Jacobs. He also lovingly embraced Kevin’s godchildren, Angela Fain and Richard Fain as part of his family.

Doug had a deep love for all things Indiana—especially IU sports, the Indianapolis Colts, and the Indy 500—as well as the Chicago Cubs, golf, and memorable bus trips with friends through the Knights of Columbus. He was a faithful and active parishioner at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church and a proud member of Knights of Columbus Council #6923.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warner Arthur Moore and Betty Lou (Young) Moore.

Doug is survived by his beloved wife, Kevin Kathleen Moore; his brother, Gary (Rick) Moore; his stepchildren, Joe (Ashley) Jacobs, Riley (Jacob) Wise, Bailey (Dylan West) Jacobs and his cherished grandchildren: Cameron Wise, JP Jacobs, Genevieve Jacobs, Chance West, and a baby girl West expected soon.

Doug will be remembered for his kindness, gentle spirit, quiet strength, infectious smile, unwavering faith, and his lifelong love for Indiana sports. He leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and grace that will live on in all who knew him.

The family will receive friends at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church on Monday, February 2, 2026, during the public visitation from 10am to 11am followed by a Mass of Christian Bural at 11am with Father Thomas Haan presiding. A funeral meal will take place immediately following Mass at St Louis de Montfort. Interment will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
