Douglas Gene Arnold

Below is a personal eulogy drafted by Doug, age 86.

If you are reading this, my Lord called me home September 19, 2022, and as always, my loving wife, Margie, was at my side.  I was born in Caples, WV and graduated from Welch High School.  I proudly joined the U.S.N. and served 30 years.  I moved to Lawrence, IN and worked 20 years at I.H/Navistar.  I met Margie on July 9, 2006, and married her on June 2, 2007.  Survivors are my wife, Margie; step-daughters, Robyn J. and Brandi K.; 5 grandkids, 8 great grandkids; and I loved them all.  Baby girl, you will always be the love of my life.  My little buddy, Finley, take care of Mommy for me.  While living in Lawrence, I had the best neighbors, The Millers.  They always included us with their family.  Kevin, please help Margie if she needs it.  I will miss you all.  The rest of my family was very distant and gave up on me four years ago, which is your loss.

Visitation will be from 12pm to 1pm on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a service to start at 1pm.  Douglas’ final resting place will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Fishers, IN.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Margie to help with final expenses.
