Donna Ann Hendrix, 67, of Greenfield, IN, passed away on April 16, 2024. She was born on March 13, 1957, in Indianapolis, to the late Kenneth and Barbara (Nester) Wilburn. Donna graduated from Ben Davis High School. After high school, Donna went to work for a Christian Book Store and then onto the district office of the ABA (American Baptist Association). After a few years of convincing, President Dr. Ware got Donna to become his administrative assistant at the Crossroads Bible College, retiring 25 years later. She then went to work for her husband, Conway, at his dual businesses, Christ Powered Mechanics and Good Shephard Towing. Donna hardly ever left Indiana, until Conway decided to sell the Mechanic business, and she would ride with him on several of his towing excursions.
Donna loved all animals. She grew up on a farm and helped raise 2 lambs, Jack and Jill, when they lost their mom. Donna continued that love from children into her adulthood. She lovingly had a Rooster named “Chickenboc” that would follow her around like a dog, and from that rooster, she ended up with 98 baby chickens at one time. Donna also loved God and the church, helping all of the students at the college, and being a wonderful Meeyum to her grandchildren, Kasie and Milo. She played piano at Amity Community Church, where she was a member. Donna loved going on road trips with Conway and spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, mentioned above. Donna is survived by her husband of 18 years, Conway Hendrix; children, Amber Brown (Jonathan) and Tyland Hendrix; grandchildren, Kasie Kissick and Milo Hendrix; siblings, John Wilburn (Quintanna), Vicky Gladson (Tim) and Mark Wilburn (Rachel); mother-in-law, Annie Hendrix; sisters-in-law, Terry Neal, Debra Hancock (Billy) and Katrina Thomas; along with many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends; along with her dog, Elsa (who is also her best friend).
Visitation will be from 11am to 12pm on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a service to start at 12pm.
