Donald Maguire

Donald Eugene Maguire, 79, of Frankton, Indiana, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on August 12, 2023.  He was born on September 2, 1943, in Anderson, Indiana, to the late John and Pauline (Branch) Maguire.  Don served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1966, as a Crash Rescue Fire Fighter pulling the injured from burning planes.  He worked as a lineman at General Motors, retiring in 2002.  Don attended Whetstone United Church of Christ and then Florida Station Church of God in Indiana, and for seventeen years he served as the head of Property & Grounds at Bloomington Christian Church, Byrdstown, Tennessee.

Don loved to spend time with his family, help others, boat, fish, camp, design and build things, restore antiques.

Don is survived by his daughter, Michelle McDaniel (husband Steve); grandchildren Jonathan McDaniel (wife Megan), Jordan McDaniel (wife Payton), Jamie Foltz (husband Evan), Elizabeth and Brayden McDaniel; great grandchildren Robbie, Cordelia, Wyatt, Killian, Loralei, Novalee, and Ezekiel McDaniel. He is also survived by sister Sue Young (husband Bob), brother Christopher Reeder (wife Robin), brother Phillip Reeder, Jr., and little sister Linda Campbell Harshman (husband Leonard); special cousins Carole Sorrell, Cynthia Maguire and Larry Maguire (wife April); Sister-in-Law Faye Hines (husband Durwood), Ronnie Hines (wife Mary Francis), Sister-in-Law Sarah Pittman (husband Rooster), Sister-in-Law Linda Kaye Pearce, Sister-in-Law Gertrude Hines; many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Betty Lou (Hines) Maguire; his Daddy, Phillip Reeder, Sr.; Sister Bonnie Lou (Maguire) Thompson; Granddaughter, Jerrica McDaniel; Mother-in-Law Minnie Hines, and many other family members.

A special thank you to family friends: Carolyn McGinnis, Elizabeth Raison, Christie Kinnett, Pam & Ed Moore, John & Tammy Davis and Hunter Lasley all who helped the family care for Don in a variety of ways during his final days here on earth. Thank you to Dr. Ann Ford, Dr. Malik & Community Hospice who provided excellent care.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Florida Station Church of God, 1045 W 375 N, Anderson, IN, 46011. The doors will open at 1:30 p.m. Pastors Doug Doan and Jerry Hilligoss Officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Florida Station Church of God, Honduras Missions.
