Donald Duane Beck

Donald Duane Beck, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 27, 2022.  He was born on June 9, 1933, in Bismarck, ND to the late John and Sophia (Mek) Beck.  Don graduated from Zap High School in Zap, ND and later joined the U.S Air Force to serve in the Korean War.

When Don came back to the States, he was stationed in Aiken, SC where he met his future wife, Mary.  Once Don was discharged, he moved to Indianapolis, where his brother and sister resided, and found a job.  Shortly after, Don had Mary move to Indianapolis as well, where they got married and raised their family.

Don worked for the Federal Government collecting data from the rivers.  He traveled all over southern Indiana during this time.  The Wabash River was his favorite.  He retired from this job in the 1980’s.  Don also loved coaching his children’s baseball and basketball leagues, while they were growing up.

He is preceded in death by his parents, mentioned above; along with his siblings, Florence Wildrick and Fern Vincent.

Don is survived by his children, Jerri K. Clark, Donald D. Beck Jr., Darryl J. Beck, Stephanie A. Beck, and Glen R. Beck; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, along with 1 soon to be great grandchild; former spouse, Mary Beck.
