Diane E. (Mollohan) Smallwood, of Noblesville, IN passed away on April 17, 2024, in Indianapolis, IN, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished by those who knew her. She was born November 6, 1943, to the late Donald and Frances Edythe (West) Mollohan in Grimes, AL.

Diane was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warm smile and unwavering kindness. Her gentle nature and generosity were truly remarkable, making her a source of comfort and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Throughout her life, Diane found joy in simple pleasures such as tending to her garden and expressing herself through art. An accomplished painter with a talent for crocheting and needlepoint, she poured her creativity into everything she did. Diane truly enjoyed traveling with her husband Bill, whether they were driving, hauling their camper, flying, or cruising the open water.

In her career as a clerical worker spanning over two decades until her retirement in 1998, Diane exhibited dedication and professionalism, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. However, it was in her role as a homemaker where she truly thrived. Known for her exceptional culinary skills, she found immense pleasure in hosting family dinners and holiday gatherings, where she demonstrated her love through delicious meals that brought everyone together.

Diane's grandson Cory beautifully captured the essence of her presence by saying, "She didn't leave a hole, she left us crumbs of happiness everywhere." This sentiment encapsulates the impact Diane had on those around her - spreading joy wherever she went and creating lasting memories filled with love.

She is survived by her devoted spouse of 60 years William Smallwood of Noblesville, IN; children Brett Smallwood of Salem, IL and Michelle (Smallwood) Conway of Westfield, IN; grandchildren William Daniel Smallwood of Salem IL and Cory Patrick Conway of Indianapolis, IN.

Diane is proceeded in death by her parents; Donald and Frances Edythe (West) Mollohan, sister, Sherry Moore and
brothers, Donald Mollohan Jr., Dwight Mollohan, and Henry Mollohan.

In honoring Diane's memory, let us carry forward the light she brought into our lives by emulating her kindness and grace.
