IN LOVING MEMORY OF A MOTHER’S MOTHER

Deborah Louise Dycus Northington Walker Johnson, daughter of the late Dorothy Dycus Willams, Flavor Northington, Morris Williams was born June 14, 1950, in Indianapolis, IN. She was preceded in death by a younger brother Steven Dycus and younger sister Pamela Garrett.

Debra, as she was known, accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at Corithian Baptist Church by Pastor Stephen Wells. She attended Shortridge and graduated from Broad Ripple HS.

Debra was employed as office manager for Indianapolis City Government Hostage Negotiator Dr. Conley. She worked for the State of Indiana and was last employed by Consumer Credit Counselors.

Debbie, as she was affectionately called, enjoyed her 2 children, 3 grandchildren and 2 stepchildren. She enjoyed reading, dancing, music, movies and traveling with her husband AL. Her all-time favorite movie was Superman and she loved her some Dr. Julius Erving. But if you ever played games with her, she never lost and never paid up!

Deborah Johnson departed this life Oct 25, 2023, at the age of 73. She battled the effects or limits of a stroke for 16 years, but her mind was ever clear, and her heart was courageously strong to the very last minute.
