Debra J. Duncum, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, in her hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on July 16, 1963, in Indianapolis, Debra lived a life marked by compassion, dedication to family, and a deep commitment to helping others.
Throughout her life, Debra was known for her warm heart and her unwavering desire to care for those around her. She found great joy in serving her community, with one of her proudest accomplishments being her efforts in feeding the homeless, a testament to her generous spirit and genuine concern for the well-being of others. Her family was at the center of her universe, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Debra had many interests that brought her happiness and relaxation. She enjoyed crafts, a creative outlet that allowed her to express herself, and was an avid fan of television, especially HGTV and reality shows. She also loved to travel, often seeking the serene beauty of the beach and the sunny warmth of Florida.
She is survived by her devoted mother, Sandra Kay Cronnon; children Ricky Dodson, Ashley Cronnon, Lisa Bennett, and Ashley Day; grandchildren Dustin Arnold, Ricky Dodson Jr., Trey Barrick, Jayla Cronnon, and Reece Dodson; siblings Vicki (Keith) Koers, Charles Cronnon, Tami (James) Waymire, and Timothy (Christina) Cronnon; as well as her cherished best friend and caretaker, Teresa Carver. These loved ones carry forward her spirit and the profound impact she had on their lives.
Debra was preceded in death by her father, Patrick Cronnon; her husband, Kenneth Wayne Duncum; granddaughter Heather Arnold; and siblings Patrick Cronnon, Michelle Cronnon, and Terri Norwood.
A visitation to honor Debra's memory will be held on June 9, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 1604 W Morris St in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is a time for family, friends, and the community to gather and remember a woman whose kindness and dedication touched so many.
Debra J. Duncum will be remembered as a caring soul whose life was dedicated to the service of others and the love of her family. Her legacy of compassion, generosity, and warmth will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those she loved.
