David Wayne Brown

May 21, 1962 — March 4, 2016

David Wayne Brown, age 53, of Indianapolis, IN died on Friday, March 4 after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was born on May 21, 1962 in Columbus, IN to the late David E. and Georgia A. (Agnew) Brown.

David spent 25 years in the United States Army including a tour of duty serving in Operation Desert Storm. He worked in many careers with his time in the military but enjoyed being a cook, financial specialist and finally retiring as an engineer. After his retirement from the Army he worked at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Federal Security.
He was an artist that enjoyed paint using both oils and acrylic as his mediums. He loved to paint outdoor scenes, especially barns. He enjoyed doing anything outdoors including hunting, fishing and hiking.


He is survived by his precious and loving wife of 30 years, Teresa Brown; daughter, Jessica Alexander; grandsons, Carl Wayne Alexander IV and Antonio David Perez; sister, Bonnie Sue (Jeff) Kramer; step-mother, Rhea Brown; Father and Mother-in-Law, Claudie Rowland and Pauline Rowland and a sister-in-law, Bonita (Matt) Burroughs. He was preceded in death by his parents.


Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence, 5215 N. Shadeland Ave. Burial will take place on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Marion National Cemetery. Donations in David’s memory can be made to the family for final expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
