David W. Jones

David W. Jones, 68, of Indianapolis, left this world on November 25, 2023.  He was born in Indianapolis, to the late Jack Jones and Mildred Ames.  He attended Ben Davis High School, and after graduation, he served as volunteer firefighter with Wayne township and Oakpark Fire Department.  He was also with the Marion County Sherrif Reserve Department.  David served as a Reserve Police Office for the city of Southport, Indiana.  He retired as a truck driver with Yellow Freight.  David served as a father figure to many when they were in need of a father figure.  In his spare time, he was a huge NASCAR fan.  Those he leaves behind include, Kevin Jones, Jennifer Jones (Jon), and his brothers, Mark (Donna) and Greg (Rochelle) Jones, his grandchildren, Dalialah, Kevin, Kaleigh, and his stepfather, Stan Ames.  A service to celebrate David's life will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Indianapolis, with visitation from 1:00 until service time at the funeral home.  In keeping with David’s wishes, cremation will follow.
