David Shields

David Shields, beloved son, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on June 10, 2024. He was born on March 29, 1950.

David's life was a testament to the power of kindness and friendship. His retirement from the Anderson City Water Department marked the beginning of a new era of adventure and fun. Fishing, card games, and casino trips were just a few of his favorite things, but he always made time for cookouts and cheeseburgers with his loved ones. David's legacy of love and light will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. 

David's life will be celebrated with a visitation to be held on June 18, 2024, at Legacy Funeral Home, 504 W 9th. St, Anderson, IN 46016. The visitation will take place from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Following the visitation, a Funeral Service will be held at the same location 2:00 to 3:00 PM.

David is survived by his son Jason Shields; Ex daughter in law/caregiver Joni Malone; Grandchildren Brooke (Odell) Wilkerson, Jackie Shields, Jaycee Shields, Alexis Shields, Ryan, Anna Mae, Brayden; Great grandchildren Emily, Ky'Dre, Ki'Ree Ka'Miyah, Kai'Dence, Bella, Aiyden, Kai'Den, and Deonna; His longtime friend Frank Breese; many great friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his mother Jacqueline Paisley; Ex-wife Cathy Menefee; Son Jarrett Shields; Grandchildren David and Cheyenne; and Ex daughter in law Tiffany Arnold. 

David will be dearly missed but forever remembered for his kind spirit and the love he shared with those around him. May he rest in peace.
