David R. Burns

David R. Burns, age 71, of Anderson, passed away on December 4, 2022, at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on June 30, 1951, in Anderson, Indiana to the late Clark Burns and Dorothy (Hoosen) Burns.

David was a graduate of Highland High School, Class of 1969. After graduation, he served in the United States Army for many years. After his stent in the military, David held many jobs. He loved auctions and was an auctioneer, he worked in retail management, and most recently worked at Universal Music.

David had a passion for woodworking and crafting. Up until the last day, you could find him building, creating, and assembling different things for his family. He loved old cars, attending concerts with his wife Linda, and never missed his children’s sporting events. He was ornery, a true jokester to his friends and family. He was a friendly presence in any room he was in. He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his wife Linda Burns of 19 years; children Brian Williamson and his children, Heather Burns, Autumn Burns, and Robin Weaver (Michael); grandchildren Megan Burns, Anthony Fuller, Tamera Fuller, Bryson Fuller, Nehemiah Burns, Henrietta Robinson, Morgan Fix, Brad Fix Jr., Darrell Weaver, and James Weaver; 4 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews Chrissy Lutz, Jason Burns, Todrey Price, Christina Ball, Richard Ball, KeAndre Simmons, Jeremy Burke, and Jason Burke; sister-in-law Donna Burns; and special friend Richard Fuller along with many other close friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents listed above, and brother Larry Burns.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday December 13, 2022, from 1-3pm with a funeral service beginning at 3pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson.
