David K. Peck, 75, of Daleville, Indiana, passed away on June 27, 2026, after an extended illness.

Born on December 7, 1950, in Los Angeles, California, David was the son of George and Rosa Peck. Though California was where his story began, Indiana became the place where he found peace and happiness. He moved to Elwood, Indiana, seeking a simpler life and quickly fell in love with the Hoosier state he would call home.

David dedicated more than 20 years of his career to J-Trans Trucking in Marion, Indiana. A man with an unmistakable personality, he left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

David embraced the role of Santa Claus each year, visiting hospitals, nursing facilities, and community events free of charge. Alongside wife, Aldona, who served as Mrs. Claus, he brought joy, laughter, and cherished memories to countless children and families.

David married the love of his life, Aldona, later in life, proving that some of life's greatest blessings are worth waiting for. Their love was deep and he passionately adored her. Together, they shared a bond filled with laughter, devotion, and adventure.

David was larger than life—a force of nature with a colorful spirit and a heart that was bigger still. He loved to tease and harass those closest to him. He was strong-willed, protective, and loyal. If David was able to help someone, he would. He loved making people laugh, creating unforgettable moments, and reminding those around him not to take life too seriously.

He is survived by his loving wife, Aldona Peck; children, David Jr., Rosie, and Derek; stepchildren, Alex, Eric, Ariel, and Nick; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; brother, Bruce and his wife Melissa Peck; and several nieces and nephews, including P.J. Peck and Matthew Peck.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Rosa Peck; son, George Peck; stepson, Louis III; and his sisters, Hope, June, and Cindy.

David lived life on his own terms. He was a free spirit, an adventurer, a storyteller, and a friend to many. His legacy will live on through the memories he created, the laughter he inspired, and the countless lives he touched along the way. For those that knew him, he will always have “Your Name” with him forever.

A Tribute from His Brother, Bruce

"Yesterday as the sun went down, it was the end of a normal day for most people. Not for our family. Yesterday, we lost my brother, David Peck. When his light went out, the world became a little less bright.

Nobody should be sad for him. He lived. Really lived! He touched so many people's lives. His adventures are amazing. He really was feral—a free spirit. Nothing held him back.

David had a unique mixture of human qualities. He was annoying, caring, controlling, compassionate, a confidant, a force to be reckoned with, a best friend, and many, many more. Above all, to me, he was the best brother anyone could ever have had.

I will so sorely miss my big brother."
