David Edward Paugh

David Edward Paugh, age 82, passed away on May 15, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana, with his devoted wife, Barbara at his side.

David was born on November 26, 1942, in Anderson, Indiana, the son of Harold and Isabelle (Johnson) Paugh. David graduated from Madison Heights High School, class of 1961, in Anderson, Indiana. He also attended Ivy Tech.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sue Ann Paugh; daughter; Kim Garst; and granddaughter, Pricia Rose.

David was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend.

David is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara.

Additionally, he is survived by his son, Jeffrey Paugh (Rebecca), Julie Jones (Warren), son, Chris Alloway, and daughter, Pricilla Rose (Dick). He has 11 grandchildren: Avery Paugh, Emily Denny (Isaac), Victor Richardson, Adam Paugh, Gatlin Jones, Lauren Stoddard (Daniel), Amanda Kissel (Adam), Austin Rose (Hanna), Michael Garst (Katie), Gavin Rose, and Haden Rose, in addition to 7 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Paugh (Aurelia), sister-in-law, Kathy Eskin (Harold), numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as his very dear longtime friend, Gerald Metzger.

David was a highly trained and skilled machinist as well as a production supervisor prior to his retirement.

David was known for his love of hunting elk, playing euchre, and his remarkable ability to endure the great challenges posed by a myriad of medical issues and pain over many years. He faced such challenges with great poise and humor; providing inspiration to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. David will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services—Lawrence at 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis, IN, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 6:30pm with visitation beginning at 5:30pm.
