David Hughes

David Hughes, 74, of Anderson, passed away on February 15, 2024, at 9:21am after an extended illness with his close family surrounding him. He was born on April 12, 1949, in Anderson, the son of Richard and Edna Hughes.

David graduated from Anderson High School Class of 1967. He attended Herron Art Institute for a time before moving to Isla Morada, Florida. He returned from Florida and had his own detailing business, Dr. Detail, for many years.

David is survived by his daughters Erica Hughes and Cayley Hughes; 2 grandsons Cayden and Carter; sisters Rhonda Garringer and Sharla Purciful; nephew Brian Bostic who was a tremendous help with all of David’s affairs; and several other nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents listed above; sister Karen Hook; Nephew Aaron David Purciful; niece Michelle Hughes McManus; and brother Mike Hughes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Protection League in memory of David.

Per his wishes, David has requested that no services be held, and cremation be completed.
