David Ross Hobbs

David Ross Hobbs, 80, of Anderson, IN, passed away on March 19, 2026. He was born on July 8, 1945, in Anderson, IN to the late James Virgil Hobbs and Louise Carolyn (Ross) Otis. David graduated from Alexandria High School. He was a production worker for General Motors, retiring in 1996 from Delco Remy Plant 20.

David spent the majority of his life as a student and instructor of Karate thru the American Go-Ju Ryu Karate obtaining a 3rd degree black belt. He was dedicated to his students for their future development in making great citizens of society and continued to certify belt promotions until 2025.

David is preceded in death by his parents mentioned above. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Christy Hobbs; daughter, Beth Calvert (Joe); son, Todd Hobbs (Katrina); step-son, Shane Moore (Brynn); grandchildren, Brittney Dixon (Patrick), Jordan Smith (Lauren), Connor Hobbs, Taylor Buckley (Rex), Elijah Hobbs, Destiny Wheeler (KP), Jaden Moore, Grace Moore-Cash (Will) and Mary Carroll; 4 great grandchildren; and special friend, Ed Leonard.
