Darrick Miller, born on September 17, 1960, in Anderson, Indiana, passed away on September 5, 2024, in his hometown.
He is remembered for his unwavering dedication and commitment throughout his lengthy career in maintenance at Bronnenberg Children’s Home, as well as his time with Ralph David Electric and as a Pipe Bender for American Playground. He was well-known in his family as a Jack of all trades, possessing an extraordinary aptitude for fixing anything that was broken. Many sought his guidance and skills, and he willingly shared his expertise with friends and family alike. His passion for playing the guitar brought joy not only to himself but also to those who had the pleasure of listening.
An avid outdoorsman, Darrick cherished time spent fishing and camping, activities that allowed him to embrace the tranquility of nature. His love for his family was evident in the special bond he shared with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. They were often the center of his world, and he took pride in creating lasting memories with them.
In addition to his family connections, Darrick's dogs were of utmost importance to him, serving as cherished companions throughout his life. His warmth, generosity, and spirit of adventure left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Darrick is survived by his daughter Tiffany Miller (Ray Parks); grandsons Austin, Aries. and Aaron Miller; siblings Lisa Miller Greene, Danta Wessel (Jeff), Peggy Vendel (David), and Jeff Miller; nieces and nephews Mandy McCoy (Jason), Tisha Carter (Justin), Kayla Greene (CJay), Erin Greene (DaTwaon), Emily Miller (Shawn), Collin Miller, Kayce Miller, Shane McCoy, Jeffrey Miller, and Kelly Brown (Mikey); several other great nieces, nephews, and cousins; special puppy dogs Missy, Wesson, Zeus; special nephews Adam Wasson and Gary Floyd; and best friend and brother David Burton.
He is preceded in death by his parents James and Patricia Miller; baby brother Michael Miller; nieces Kyann Miller and Tailer Roberts; great nephew Landon Arnold; and special dog Dusty.
Darrick Miller leaves behind a legacy of compassion, skill, and a love for family that will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
