Daniel Gray

Daniel Dean Gray, 72, passed away peacefully on March 25th after a long battle with cancer.  Dan was born September 1st, 1951 to parents Robert Lewis Gray and Barbara Jean (Beresford) and grew up in Anderson, Indiana, graduating from Madison Heights High School. Dan worked for over 30 years as a talented tool and die maker.  He had a love for cars and playing golf and was an avid bowler.  Dan was a loving and dedicated family-man and took great pride in his family, especially in his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family, which includes his large circle of friends.  He was loved dearly.  Dan lived his life with laughter and happiness and will be remembered not only for his smile, but for his strength and resilience in anything that life threw his way.  Anyone who crossed paths with Dan would walk away with some kind of wisdom, a smile (often from a joke or story) and a sense of somehow feeling better.  Dan was 32 years clean and sober and was a respected leader within the AA community.  He was a member of the AA Board of Directors for the Fifth Chapter House in Anderson and helped organize several different recovery programs. He made helping others his mission as a Sponsor, as a mentor and as a friend. Daniel Gray has left a legacy of guidance, laughter, love, acceptance and most importantly, hope.
