Anderson

Cynthia Lynn Taylor, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away on July 2, 2025. She was a devoted mother, loving neighbor, and a true friend to many.

Cindy was a stay-at-home mom to her three boys, and her care extended far beyond her own family. Known affectionately as "Momma" to countless neighborhood kids and friends of her sons, she had a heart big enough for everyone. Her home was always open, her porch always full of conversation, and her kitchen always busy. Cindy loved to cook — and if you were anywhere nearby, she made sure you ate.

As her children grew, Cindy continued her commitment to serving others by working in the school cafeteria and assisting on the special needs school buses for Anderson Community Schools. She cherished her neighbors, loved a good rummage sale, and never met a stranger. She enjoyed sitting outside with friends, catching up, and sharing laughs from the front porch.

Cindy spent most of her life in Anderson, IN. She was married to Mark Taylor for 28 years. Though they eventually went their separate ways, they remained close friends until his passing a few years ago.

In recent years, since the COVID-19 pandemic, Cindy spent much of her time at home. During that quiet season, she found something powerful — her faith in Jesus. Though she didn’t get out much, she built new connections online, especially through Facebook, where she stayed in touch with old friends and made new ones. Her faith grew, and even in solitude, her warmth and personality still found ways to reach people.

She is survived by her sons James (Dawn) Taylor, Jeramy (Mohican) Taylor, and Justin Taylor; her beloved grandchildren Kennedy, Sabrina, Victoria, Kendon, and Anthony; her brother Mike (Donna) Turner; and a special friend, Jimmy Marvell.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Sara Turner; her grandson James Jr.; and her former husband and friend, Mark Taylor.

Cindy’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the meals she shared, the laughter she spread.
