Christine "Christy" Leigh Hoppes Barton

Christine “Christy” Leigh Hoppes Barton, 38, of Alexandria Indiana, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 23^rd, 2023.

Growing up Christy played the piano and was a member of the Anderson Area Children's Choir and Youth Chorale. In high school band she learned to play the flute and went on to win top awards for her talent. Christy was also very involved in her church’s youth group through North Anderson Church of God. She attended youth conventions and went on several youth ministry trips in the United States and even to Ireland! Christy is a 2005 graduate Frankton High School.

Christy loved to draw and share her drawings with family and friends. Her most loved activity was spending time with her three children; Zaine(15), Ivy(13), and Serenity(11) Barton. She enjoyed working alongside her dad in the cabinet shop. She has worked at several restaurants such as Arby’s, Ryan’s, Panera Bread, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, and Pizza King.

Christy is survived by three Children: Zaine, Ivy, and Serenity Barton; parents: Jerry and Cheryl Hoppes of Alexandria; Aunt Marleine McLaughlin of Anderson; Uncle Hal McLaughlin of Anderson; Aunt Joyce and Uncle Larry Hutcherson of Florida, Uncle Larry and Aunt Debbie Hoppes of Anderson; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services for Christy will be held on August 29, 2023 with visitation 12pm to 1pm and service at 1 at Legacy Funeral Home 504 W. 9^th St. Anderson, IN 46016
