Cheyenne Domonique Yates

Cheyenne Domonique Yates was born Thursday, September 27, 2001, to Carla (Starr) Williams and the late Edward J. Yates.  Cheyenne and her twin sister, Ebony, arrived on their dad’s birthday.  Cheyenne gave birth to her beautiful daughter, Cassidy Yates, six years ago.  Cheyenne was a devoted and wonderful mother to Cassidy.

Cheyenne graduated from Lawrence North High School in May 2018.  Upon graduation, she became an entrepreneur as a nail technician specialist, creating many extraordinary designs for her clients.  Cheyenne was also pursuing a new career as a dental assistant.

Cheyenne enjoyed taking nature walks, traveling, doing hair and makeup, working out, exploring new restaurants and shopping.  She even out shopped her twin!  Cheyenne also loved to cook and create new dishes.  She never began cooking before 9:00 pm.  Cheyenne never gained a pound, no matter what she ate.

Cheyenne had a very close relationship with her brother, Craig, and both of her sister, Ebony and McKenzie.  She was also a dedicated and caring auntie to Kylie, Billion, and Ja’sean, who lovingly called her Titi.

As twins, Cheyenne and Ebony were inseparable, but they did have their fair share of disagreements.

Our family is badly devastated by the loss of such a young, promising life, but we know that God has her wrapped in His arms.  We know Cheyenne’s spirit and memories will forever live through her family.

Cheyenne was preceded in death by her father, Edward “EJay” Yates and her grandparents, James and Frankie Yates.

Cheyenne’s memory will forever be cherished by her daughter, Cassidy Yates; her mother, Carla (Starr) Williams; brother, Craig Chambers Jr.; two sisters, Ebony Yates and McKenzie Yates; her grandmother, Charlita Thompkins; her great-grandmother, Charmain Jefferson; two nephews, one niece; along with many aunties, uncles, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.
