Cheryl (Sherry) Sally- Avila left this life on March 5th, 2022, in Anderson, IN. Sherrie was born and grew up in Rockford. She also lived in Colorado, Florida, Kentucky and Michigan. She spent some of the best years of her life from 2012 to 2020 in Rockton and made some good friends there. She moved to Anderson in March of 2020, thinking it was only going to be a stop on her way back to Florida. Sherry loved all animals but her passion in life was horses. She continued to share her life with horses until she left Rockton. She was also an avid dog and cat lover, having rescued a number of them over the years. She supported many animal welfare organizations.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Doris Sandall, father, Walter L. Sally, a step father, two sisters, and an aunt and uncle – Betty and Russell Skildum. She is survived by her sister, Debra Sally of California and cousins, Mike Johnson, Bonny Johnson, and others.
No services are to be held. Donations can be made to the ASPCA or the Animal Protection League of Anderson.
