Cheryl Ann Cave, 58, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2026.
Born and raised in Middletown, Indiana, Cheryl was a woman whose kindness, humor, and caring spirit touched everyone who knew her. She attended Shenandoah High School and later graduated from Ivy Tech Community College, where she earned certification as a Nursing Assistant. While she worked for Delco Remy for a time, her true passion was caring for others. Cheryl found her calling serving the elderly and disabled, and she dedicated much of her life to helping those in need with compassion and dignity.
Cheryl had a vibrant personality. She was friendly, outgoing, and always ready with a joke or a funny story. In her younger years, she was the life of the party. She enjoyed fishing, crafting, painting and sewing. Above all else, Cheryl was devoted to her family, especially her son, Tyler. Reflecting on his mother, Tyler shared, "I'm proud of the way she raised me." Cheryl's love, guidance, and unwavering care shaped his life.
Cheryl is survived by her beloved son, Tyler Lockerage; uncle, Steve Murdoc; sister, Melissa (Jerry) Bagg; brother, Tony Cave; nieces and nephews, Jai (Rachel) Cave, Leif (Hannah) Cave, Cara Cave, Eva (Nick) Faurote, Kenneth Bagg, Richard Bagg, Karina Macallen, Connor Cave, and Tanner Cave; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and her longtime friend, Treva Pugsley.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Cave; her mother, Julia Winningham; her special aunt Nancy and her grandparents.
Cheryl will be remembered for her generous heart and the genuine love she shared with family, friends, and those she cared for throughout her life. Her memory will continue to live on in the many lives she touched and in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, check back for the details.
