Charles William Cartmell

Charles William Cartmell passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022.  He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones after a brief battle with an aggressive form of head and neck cancer. He was 60.

Charlie was born on August 13, 1961, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to father, Graydon Sinclair Cartmell and mother, Edna Ruth Mason Cartmell. 

Charlie had a love for fishing, golfing and watching football.  He spent most of his free time fishing in his backyard pond where he would catch bluegill, catfish and bass.  Charlie is survived by his wife; Brenda Cartmell, children Tammy Cartmell-Varner (William Varner, Jr), Nicole Whitesell (David Whitesell), Jason Cartmell; his twin granddaughters Emma Varner and Bella Varner; step twin grandsons Cameron Whitesell and Vance Whitesell; siblings Karen Swann, Donna Ball (Joe Ball), Thomas Cartmell (Karen Cartmell), John Cartmell (Tami Cartmell); mother-in-law Darlene Lynam. 

A visitation for Charlie is planned for Friday, July 15, 2022, from 11am to 1pm.  The visitation will be at the Legacy Funeral Home on 1604 W. Morris St, Indianapolis, IN 46221.  All are invited to attend. A reception will promptly follow at the Varner residence at 8417 Bolero Way, Camby, IN 46113.
