Charles Carter, lovingly known as “Kip”, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, at Bethany Pointe, at the age of 67.
Kip was born on October 1, 1957, to Cindy Davis, and spent his life bringing kindness and quiet generosity to those around him. After graduating high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy, an experience that shaped his sense of service and commitment to others.
A man of deep faith, Kip was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where he served faithfully as an usher and volunteered many hours working in the church’s food bank, ensuring that others had what they needed. Kip also worked at the local hospital, where he found joy in maintaining the grounds, tending to the landscape and gardens with the same care he gave to those around him.
Kip loved the holidays, especially for the food and fellowship they brought, and he was known for his simple pleasures, including a fondness for McDonald’s and Taco Bell. He gave out gift cards religiously—whether for a birthday, a thank you, or just because—sharing what he had with a generous spirit that made others feel seen and valued.
A devoted sports fan, Kip rarely missed a Colts or Pacers game, cheering on his teams with enthusiasm and loyalty.
The family would like to give special recognition to Kip’s two dear friends, Jamie and Drew, who were important companions in his life.
Kip is survived by his cousins Jeff (Carla) Davis, Deborah (Gary Schuster) Law, Donald (Renee Jones) Hodson, and several other cousins who will carry forward his memory with love and gratitude.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother Cindy Davis, grandfather Ted Davis, Aunt Patricia Davis, Uncle Ray Davis, and several cousins who went before him.
Kip’s family and friends will miss his gentle presence, his giving heart, and the quiet way he made life better for those around him. His memory will remain a blessing to all who knew him.
