Carolyn Ann Brake

Carolyn Ann Brake, age 93, of Alexandria, passed away on January 11, 2024, at her home. She was born on May 9, 1930.

Carolyn was a very simple woman who loved her family fiercely. She was hardworking and independent until the very end. If you were in trouble, she would give you the shirt off her back. She was an amazing cook and loved to feed her family. Get togethers were always a treat at Carolyn’s home. Her family describes her as loyal, spicey, spunky and tenacious. There was never a dull moment with Carolyn. She loved her grandchildren dearly. She loved roses and if you knew Carolyn then you knew there wasn’t a person out there who loved eating garden tomatoes more than she did. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Carolyn is survived by her children Stephen Beamer (Ginger), John Beamer (Robin), Robert Brake, and Susan Bell (Carl); grandchildren Brandy Beamer (Monty), Anna Beamer, Stephanie Eppards (Michael), Jessica Beamer, Nicole Brake, Ashlee Cesario (Nick), Austin Brake, Kaylee Brake, Kristen Furnish, Josh Bell, Dustin Bell; great-grandchildren Aidan, Michael, Isabelle, Jasper, Olivia, Jack, Malachi, Taylor, Sabastian, Fayla, Colton, and Layla; several nieces and nephews; and brothers David Williams and Jarold Williams.

She is preceded in death by husband Robert L. Brake; her parents; granddaughter Marla Dwiggins; grandson-in-law Jarrod Furnish; and siblings Suzanne, Margie, Sally, Alice, Richard, and Robert.

A celebration of life will be held in May 2024. (date pending)

Cremation was handled through Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services – Anderson.
