Carlo Smith

Carlo Smith, better known as Bo, was born to the late Claude and Susie Smith on March 11, 1943 in Oxford, Mississippi.  

Bo relocated to Indianapolis, IN in his young adult years.  He was an entrepreneur, owning several businesses over the years.  He also invested in real estate.  He received his calling to the ministry, becoming an Elder in the late 1990’s.  Bo was a faithful member of The Church of the Living God for decades and his devotion to the Lord was evident in his life.  He regularly helped those in need and taught his children to do the same.  Education was a priority to him, and he made sure his children succeeded academically.  He was a man of his word and a man of action.  One of his favorite sayings was “Talk is Cheap.”  Bo was big on forgiveness and understanding everyone makes mistakes.  Bo had a great sense of humor and never wasted an opportunity to tease you.  

Bo departed this life on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the age of 81.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude & Susie Smith; siblings, Susie Mae Miller, Lola Mosley, and Johnny Smith; wife, Katheryn Smith; daughter, Beverly Johnson. 

Bo was married to Katheryn Smith, being windowed in 1995.  He later married Frieda Smith.  He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his children, Tim (Shawn), Tyrone, Garry (Carrie), Daryl (Jennie), Krystal (Rasheed), and Euricka; siblings Mattie and George; 19 Grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
