In Loving Memory of Carl A. “Buck” Tinnon

Carl A. “Buck” Tinnon, passed away on September 29, 2023, at Countryside Senior Living in Anderson, Indiana, at the age of 96. He was born in Clay County, Arkansas, on June 13, 1927, to Cora (Busby) and Cecil Tinnon, later making Indiana his home in 1965.

Carl's fiddle-playing journey began at just 13, earning him a reputation as one of the best in the business. He played with Gospel and Bluegrass bands like The Gospel Travelers, The Gospel Ramblers, Lonnie Stone and the Lonesome Bluegrass Boys, and Hermon Hatfield and the Tennessee Valley Boys, captivating audiences all over the U.S.

Beyond his musical talent, Carl was a devoted Christian and served as an assistant Pastor at Full Gospel Church in Muncie, Indiana.

Carl is survived by his loving daughters: Diane (Ronald) Jones and Linda (Ronald) Holland of Anderson, Indiana, and stepson Larry (Patty) Morgan of Muncie, Indiana. He leaves behind cherished granddaughters: Melissa Colwell, Michelle Bradley, and Shannon Campbell of Anderson, Indiana, Jacqueline Jones of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Brittany Holland of Noblesville, Indiana, Megan Holland of Markleville, Indiana;  two step-grandchildren, Larry Morgan and Kimberly Morgan of Muncie, Indiana; along with 8 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and 5 step-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, his first wife, Sammie Adams Tinnon, and his second wife, Mae Morgan Tinnon.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Carl’s granddaughter, Shannon Campbell, for her loving care during his time at Countryside.

Services to celebrate Carl's life will be held Friday October 6th, 2023 at Legacy Funeral Home in Anderson, Indiana with visitation from 1pm-3pm and service starting at 3pm.

Carl A. “Buck” Tinnon's legacy lives on through his music and the love he shared with all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
