In Loving Memory of Brenda C. (Hutson) Hoard

Brenda C. (Hutson) Hoard, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 8th, 2023. She was born to proud parents Frank and Hettie Hutson on June 29, 1943, in Helenwood, Tennessee. Brenda’s journey through life was marked by love, compassion, and a deep commitment to her family.

Brenda’s academic journey led her to graduate from Monticello High School in Kentucky, where she demonstrated a thirst for knowledge and a passion for learning. On June 6, 1964, Brenda’s life took a beautiful turn as she married the love of her life, John Hoard, in a heartfelt ceremony held in Indianapolis, Indiana. Their union was one built on love, respect, and shared dreams.

Brenda was a devoted sister to her brother Rondon Hutson, whose bond with her was a testament to the strength of family ties. As a mother, Brenda’s nurturing spirit shined brightly as she raised her children with unwavering love and guidance. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness in the hearts of her children: Keith Hoard, Cheryl (Brett) Foster, and Mark Hoard.

As a grandmother, Brenda found immense joy in the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves a cherished legacy in the hearts of her grandkids: Courtney Hoard, Justin (Lauren) Sexson, Caitlin (Dustin) Kessler, Kimberly (Caleb) Deckard, Kristen (Matthew) Yates, Zach Hoard, Jade Balder Hopkins, and Alexia Balder. Brenda’s nurturing spirit extended to her great-grandchildren, touching the lives of many generations.

The sorrow of loss also marked Brenda’s journey through life. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Hutson, her mother, Hettie Hutson, and her daughter, Lisa Hoard. These losses only strengthened her resilience and deepened her connection to her family.

Brenda’s memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and family devotion is an inspiration to us all.

A memorial calling to celebrate Brenda’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Legacy Funeral Home, 5215 N. Shadeland Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46226. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering a beautiful soul that touched so many lives.

Brenda may have left this world, but she is now at home with Jesus, and her love and spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
