Mr. Benjamin Barker

Benjamin Lee Barker, age 58, of Indianapolis, lost his three-year battle with Leukemia on November 26, 2022, at home, surrounded by family.

Ben was born May 18, 1964, in Muncie, Indiana to Chester and Norma (Pugh) Barker.  He attended Lincoln Elementary, Wilson Middle, and Central High Schools in Muncie.

Ben was a loving, Christian man and wonderful, husband, father, brother, uncle and soon to be a grandfather to a baby girl.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, biking, bowling, and all sports.  He will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Ben leaves behind his wife Mary Anne (Hicks), they were together for 35 years; daughter, Rachael (John) Diaz; and son, Benjamin Barker Jr., all of Indianapolis; sisters Ann Surber of Kentucky, Rebecca Barker-Hunt (Ian) of Florida; Ruth Dailey (Garry) of Muncie, Indiana; mother-in-law Cathy Hicks (Mark Young), sister-in-law Kimberly Johnson, brother-in-law Mike Hicks (Tammy).

Preceding him in death are his parents, Chester and Norma (Pugh) Barker; sister Jill Hughes; brothers Joseph Barker, Daniel Barker, Timothy Barker and David Barker, Benjamin’s twin; and father-in-law Clyde Hicks.

Services will be held at a later date.
