Barbara Joan George

Barbara Joan George, age 93, passed away peacefully on December 22nd, 2022 in Anderson, IN. She was born on November 14th, 1929 in Anderson, IN a daughter to Blanche and Fred Wyant. She spent a few childhood years growing up in Wyoming with her family before returning back to Anderson where she graduated high school and continued to reside. She enjoyed serving the community while working at Gene’s Rootbeer Stand for close to 30 years. 

Barbara’s laugh could light up a room and she greeted everyone with a smile. She was a loving wife, mother, and granny to many. Her soul was bright, always crafting, cooking, or creating. She yearned for warm weather when she could watch her flowers grow and feel the sunshine on her face. Barbara loved Jesus and loved like Jesus loved, making sure all around her felt welcome. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends. 

Barbara was preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Watkins and a grandson, Broc Strauser. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Donald George, as well as three children, Kelly Strauser (Kristie); former spouse, Dawn, Kevin Strauser; former spouse, Lisa, and Patti Wilder, six grandchildren, Bralon Strauser, Bambrah Walker (Matt), Brieanne Strauser (Mitch), Kira Barrett (Tyler), Amanda Strauser, Cody Wilder, Noah Porter (Jena), Amy Watkins, twelve great grandchildren, Layton, Lilly, Jameson, Mason, Ethan, Nolan, Peyton, Brody, Logan (Sarah), Landen, Elijah, Breya, Devyn, Jordan, Sidney, and one great great grandchild, Arabella. Barbara was overjoyed to learn she was expecting a second great great grandchild in 2023, Murphy Jo Burns.
