Anthony Dewayne Garcia

December 2, 1984 — August 4, 2022

McCordsville, IN

Our beloved, Anthony Dewayne Garcia of McCordsville, Indiana passed away unexpectedly from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident on August 4th, 2022 at the age of 37.  He was born in Noblesville, Indiana on December 2nd, 1984 to his doting mother, Helen.  Anthony Dewayne was Helen’s only child.

Anthony had a working career in various industries, but later in life became involved in new home construction & remodeling and desired to learn all the skills of the trade.

He had a passion for music and loved all genres.  Wherever Anthony was, there was always music.  He enjoyed song writing, being a DJ, poetry, learning, carpentry, do-it-yourself projects, board games and cards, traveling, sightseeing, eating, theme parks, foosball, hiking, watching the sun set, billiards, blackjack and floating down the river on an air mattress.  He had a tremendous love for children and animals and his most prized possessions were his dogs.

If you knew Anthony ….. to know him was to love him.  He was full of life, laughter, love, adventure and dreams!  He never met a stranger and was a friend to all.  He always had your back and was your greatest cheerleader and supporter.  He saw nothing but the good in people and encouraged them to follow their dreams.  Anthony was compassionate and tender hearted; often feeding the homeless and advocating troubled teens.  His sense of humor had no limits.  And let’s not forget that smile ….. that invigorating and enchanting smile.  The smile that warms the heart and could light up the town!  He always had a smile, even when times were tough and days were dark.  He had eyes that gleamed and told a story.  Anthony will always be remembered for his charming personality, disarming good looks, and his welcoming smile.  He was one of a kind, for certain!

Anthony leaves behind his mother, Helen Vaughn and his “bonus mother”, Shirley Shambaugh; 2 step-mothers, Janice Baskett and Rosa Pineda; his maternal grandparents, Leo & Betty Bolyard and paternal grandfather, Jose Garcia.  He is also survived by several step-siblings; Christina, Jaime, Ryan, Eduardo, Diana, Bella, Fernando and half-brother, Diego.  Other survivors are a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Anthony is preceded in death by his father, Marco Garcia; maternal grandfather, Carlos Vaughn; paternal grandmother, Jacinta Garcia and step-brother, Denny Baskett.

“Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories” and for that reason, Anthony will be with us forever . . . . . “In another time, in a happier place, we’ll meet again.”
