Amy Marie Oaks

July 11, 1979 — December 1, 2025

Indianapolis

Amy Marie Oaks, 46, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025. She was born on July 11, 1979, in Indianapolis. She graduated from Warren Central High School in 1997. Amy attended Cumberland United Methodist Church as a teenager. She received her associate’s degree from Colorado Technical University and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Brown Mackie College. Amy worked as Dr. Franke’s RN at The Care Group for Ascension St. Vincent for 10+ years. She then went to IU Health and worked as an RN in pediatrics and respiratory during Covid. From there, Amy worked for Ortho Indy, and then when she herself had health problems, she moved to the pharmaceutical side of the health industry and was currently working as a Pharmacy Technician at Meijer.

When Amy was younger, she would get into a lot of things from being curious about her surroundings. She drank a bottle of Avon cologne once, had a couple of instances with things that should not have been shoved up her nose, and climbed up the linen closet to find a bottle of baby aspirin and figured out how to open it. It didn’t help that she was 5 years younger than her two older brothers, and they would help her get into mischief. Of course, her brothers say that she was spoiled and used her bright red, Shirley Temple hair as a cover of her “sweetness.”

Amy was a loving and caring mom, taking care of all of her children’s cares. She was the ultimate single mother, making certain that all of her kids’ needs were met and keeping on them to get things done and do the best that they can. Amy in general was a strong woman, figuring things out on her own. Any home maintenance was fixable for her, just one youtube video away. There wasn’t anything that Amy couldn’t do.

Amy was a proud cheer mom. She supported Brianna and later Alexis through years of competitive cheerleading, attending endless practices and competitions, cheering the loudest from the stands. Amy loved watching her girls shine and was always their biggest fan.

Amy had a love for all animals. Anyone would know this if they came to her home. And not just her dogs and cats, she was obsessed with watching the animals at the zoo on live feed whenever they were about to give birth. She was obsessed with April, the giraffe, and then moved onto an eagle. There wasn’t an animal that Amy didn’t love.

Amy loved the Colts, Pacers, and Fever, but especially the Colts. She adamantly watched them all anytime that she could. She would yell at the referees, because her teams could never do anything wrong. She also loved baking and cake decorating. She always made her kids’ birthday cakes, some so elaborate that it was a 3-tier castle. Amy made cakes for other family and friends as well. She would help anyone whenever she could.

She is preceded in death by grandparents, Charlie & Vi Hogue, Ray & Betty Patton, and Jack Cahen.

Amy is survived by her children, Brianna, Alexis, Brooklyn, and Patrick.

Parents, Mark & Linda Hogue.

Siblings, Jeff (Kristi) and Chris (Kristen) Hogue.

Nieces and nephews, Taelynn, Jaedren, and Maekenna Hogue and Karina & Colin Hogue.

Along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. And her fur babies.
