Ailene Susan Toliver

March 29, 1957 — April 19, 2022

Indianapolis, IN

Ailene Susan Kendrick Toliver was born on March, 29th 1957, to Oretha “Momma O” and Reverend W.B. Kendrick. She grew up in Port Royal, TN, with 8 brothers and sisters who all worked the family tobacco farm. She married Joe Toliver and had one son, Anthony, whom she raised with a firm hand and a switch called, “Mr. Do-Good”. She was very involved in all of his activities from sports, to music, and Boy Scouts, even volunteering to be his Boy Scout Troop Leader! She even threw footballs with him and his friends, and was one of the few who could tackle and outrun him! “Mr Do-Good” must have worked, as Anthony went on to retire from the United States Air Force after 20 years and is now the owner of a successful window tinting business.Ailene passed away in peace at the tender age of 65. She was preceded in death by her father, W.B. Kendrick, her brothers Raymond and Robert Kendrick, and her ex husband, Joe Toliver. She is survived by her mother, Oretha Kendrick, her son Anthony (Stephanie) Toliver, her brothers John, James (Patrice), and Roy Kendrick, her sisters Bertha Coe, Ines (Eric) Heeter, and Jessie (Lemuel) Perry. As well as multiple nephews and nieces.Ailene was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend. She dedicated many years helping people in need, volunteering in her community, ministering to all who were in her presence, and vivaciously standing for what she believed in. From marching for civil rights, attending the inauguration of President Obama, and serving magnanimously in the Black Lives Matter movement. She was motivated by challenges, overcoming obstacles, and she did everything we asked her not to do! She eagerly welcomed obstacles without fear of restitution. She was an avid ambassador of God, gave with her whole heart, loved so tenderly, and was very strong willed.Ailene will be fondly remembered and missed by family and friends, as a loving mother, distinguished leader, pioneer in business, and a champion of social consciousness. She had a beautiful smile and touched so many in her short life.Funeral services will be held at New Jerusalem 5 Fold Ministries, on Saturday, April 23rd, at 11 am in Clarksville, TN. Condolences, cards, and flowers welcomed and can be sent to the church above. A luncheon will follow at 1 pm.New Jerusalem 5 Fold Ministries1331 Crossland AveClarksville, TN 37043
